What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
26.513.31313 (2867)
What subscription do you have?
pro x20
What platform is your computer?
Darwin 25.5.0 arm64 arm
What issue are you seeing?
The current behavior suggests that device deletion may not fully clean up one or more of the following:
- remote device registration state
- local Mac pairing/session state
- auth/token association
- device identity/cache
- stale server-side record preventing re-registration
As a result, the user cannot re-add or reconnect the same Mac after deleting it from the Codex app.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Open the Codex app.
- Use Add device to add a Mac.
- Complete the remote connection/pairing flow.
- Confirm that the Mac is available and connected remotely.
- Delete/remove that Mac device from the Codex app.
- Attempt to add or reconnect the same Mac again.
- Observe that reconnection fails or the device can no longer be paired.
What is the expected behavior?
After deleting a Mac device from the Codex app, the user should be able to re-add the same Mac through Add device and complete the remote connection flow again.
Device deletion should either:
- fully revoke and clean up the old pairing state, or
- provide a clear recovery path for re-registering the same Mac.
