Codex CLI `/ide` fails to enable IDE context despite active VS Code Codex extension

What issue are you seeing?
The Codex extension is enabled normally in VS Code, and the IDE context feature is working properly there. However, when running the /ide command in Codex CLI, it shows the following error:
IDE context could not be enabled. Open this project in VS Code or Cursor with the Codex extension active.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
run /ide in codex cli with vscode on

Please use
/feedbackto upload logs and post the session ID here.Are you running Codex on the same system where your IDE is running, or are you running Codex remotely on a different system? If it's a different system, then Codex won't be able to talk to your local IDE.
it has to also run in the same folder. if on either CLI or IDE you open a parent folder, it would not detect it.
