Codex App freezes on task when using model 5.4 extra high

What issue are you seeing?

The Codex App constantly freezes and hangs on tasks after few minute on tool call like: reading, check diff, ... whenever I try to use the "model 5.4 extra high". This issue happens consistently on the latest version of the app running on a Mac M4 with 16GB RAM, so only resolution i have: stop the task then continue or try with model 5.4 high or model 5.5 high to finish the task.

Note: everything work fine before version release with /goal & remote functions.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

The Codex App consistently freezes within a few minutes during every session when using the "model 5.4 extra high".

This happens even with minor tasks, such as updating documentation and preparing a commit. The application hangs indefinitely during a tool call and becomes completely unresponsive.

What is the expected behavior?

Additional information

Furthermore, this freezing issue is not isolated to a single model. Other models with different reasoning/thinking levels also experience task freezes; for instance, I have already tested "model 5.5 high" and it freezes as well.

This makes the app highly unreliable and completely unusable in its current state.
