Rust SDK?

What variant of Codex are you using?
Desktop app
What feature would you like to see?
The GitHub Copilot SDK team just published their Rust SDK. I haven't used any sdk yet but it's on my personal todo list and ideally there would be a rust-native SDK to use with Codex as well.
The GH Copilot SDK is MIT so maybe some opportunity to accelerate Codex's Rust position given their position as a starting point

A Rust SDK would be a really strong addition to the Codex ecosystem.
Rust is growing quickly in:
A native SDK could make Codex much more attractive for Rust-first workflows instead of relying on unofficial wrappers or OpenAI-compatible abstractions.
Some things that would be especially valuable:
tokio) .Since the GitHub Copilot SDK already has a Rust implementation, there may indeed be an opportunity to reuse patterns or accelerate adoption for Codex developers.
I’d especially love to see:
This feels like a worthwhile enhancement request, especially as more systems developers and CLI tool authors adopt Codex.
This repo is basically a SDK. Add this whole repo as a git submodule, add the crates inside
codex-rsto the workspace and import them. I have a working example of this here. But yeah for it to be an official crates.io package they'd need to make a library that re-exports all of the crates in here behind feature gates. Rather than wait for an official SDK, the submodule+workspace thing works perfectly. It's heavy, but it's available right now!
I've been working on a Rust SDK for Codex and have already implemented most of the functionality discussed in this issue:
https://github.com/yukkit/codex-sdk-rs
The exposed API is largely aligned with the existing Python and TypeScript SDKs to provide a consistent developer experience across languages.
If the team thinks an official Rust SDK would be valuable, I'd be happy to contribute this work to the official repository (whether as a single PR or a series of smaller PRs) and help maintain it over the long term. I think it would be great to have a first-party Rust SDK alongside the existing language SDKs.
