MacOS: Auto switching between dark/light mode breaks Codex Desktop left sidebar and navigation

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

Version 26.527.31326 (3390)

What subscription do you have?

Enterprise

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 25.5.0 arm64 arm

What issue are you seeing?

See the video of what just happenned after automatically switching from light to dark mode on MacOS 26.5 (25F71). It also happens when switching to light mode.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. In Mac OS System Settings -> Appearance set "Auto"

  1. Wait till the system switches the color to either dark or light (have not checked manual switch)
  2. See the blinking and broken sidebar
  3. After restart the Codex Desktop UI works as expected

What is the expected behavior?

Smooth transition between dark and light modes
