What issue are you seeing?

Issue:
Codex Desktop App on Windows is unusably slow in local mode with WSL projects. Even in a clean WSL git repo with only one README.md file, a trivial prompt remains stuck in Thinking for 1–2+ minutes. Codex CLI and Cursor Codex extension are fast in the same environment.

Environment:

Windows Codex Desktop App
Package: OpenAI.Codex
Package version: 26.601.2237.0
About screen showed: 26.601.21317, released 2026-06-03
Windows + WSL2 Ubuntu
Local project path: /home/exaeuler/codex-clean-test
Clean git repo with one README.md
Model tested:
GPT-5.5 high
GPT-5.5 low
GPT-5.4-mini low
Codex CLI in WSL is fast
Cursor Codex extension is fast
Codex Desktop App local mode is slow

Reproduction steps:

Create a clean WSL git repo:
/home/exaeuler/codex-clean-test
Confirm:
git status --short
returns empty output.
Open the same project in Codex Desktop App local mode.
Send this prompt:
파일을 읽거나 수정하지 말고, ready 라고만 답하라.
Expected:
Codex replies "ready" within a few seconds.
Actual:
Codex Desktop remains stuck in Thinking for 1–2+ minutes. I manually stop it.

Already tried:

Reboot
Clean repo test
GPT-5.5 high
GPT-5.5 low
GPT-5.4-mini low
Renamed C:\Users\danat.codex
Created minimal config with hooks/plugins/MCP removed
Renamed C:\Users\danat\AppData\Local\OpenAI\Codex
Renamed C:\Users\danat.cache\codex-runtimes
Reset-AppxPackage
Remove-AppxPackage
Confirmed package state folder was removed:
C:\Users\danat\AppData\Local\Packages\OpenAI.Codex_2p2nqsd0c76g0
Reinstalled from Microsoft Store
Issue still reproduces

Additional context:

Recently linked/logged into Codex Mobile with the same account.
On Codex Mobile, exaEnterprise shows remote session disconnected / unavailable.
After Desktop reinstall, previous desktop thread/project state still reappeared without a fresh login, which suggests account-level state sync may be involved.
Desktop terminal opens correctly and starts in the correct WSL project path.
The delay happens after prompt submission, while the app is stuck in Thinking.

Conclusion:
The issue appears isolated to Codex Desktop App local mode on Windows + WSL. CLI and Cursor extension work normally.
