Codex app version

Desktop Codex: 26.601.21317 — released Jun 2, 2026

Platform

  • Desktop host: macOS Tahoe 26.5.1, Apple Silicon MacBook Pro, Pro plan
  • Mobile: latest iOS ChatGPT app / Codex mobile experience
  • Mobile connected host: Mac.attlocal.net

Summary

Codex mobile is missing multiple conversations from the unclassified/general Chats section.

On Codex Desktop, the sidebar's Chats section currently shows 6 conversations.

However, on Codex mobile connected to the same Mac host, the Chats section only shows 1 conversation.

The other 5 general/unclassified chats are missing from the mobile list. The exact conversation titles are intentionally omitted here for privacy, but the important issue is the count mismatch and missing mobile entries.

Observed behavior

  • Desktop Codex shows 6 conversations under the general Chats section.
  • Codex mobile, connected to the same host, only shows 1 conversation under Chats.
  • The missing conversations are not project-specific; they are in the general/unclassified Chats area on Desktop.
  • The iOS ChatGPT app is already updated to the latest available version.
  • The affected conversations are visible on Desktop but not listed on mobile.

Expected behavior

Codex mobile should show the same general/unclassified Chats conversation list as Codex Desktop for the connected host.

If Desktop shows 6 conversations under Chats, mobile should also show those 6 conversations, or at least provide pagination / a Show more entry so the user can access all of them.

Actual behavior

Codex mobile only shows 1 out of 6 general Chats conversations, making the other conversations inaccessible from mobile.

Why this matters

This creates a serious Desktop/mobile history consistency problem. Users rely on Codex mobile to check and resume conversations from the same connected desktop host. If mobile silently omits most unclassified chats, users may believe those conversations do not exist or cannot resume them while away from the desktop.

This is especially problematic because the missing conversations are not old archived items; they are visible in the Desktop sidebar under Chats with recent timestamps.

Request

Please investigate Codex mobile's indexing/listing logic for the general/unclassified Chats section. The mobile client should not display only a partial subset of the Desktop chat list without pagination, explanation, or a recovery path. It should stay consistent with the Desktop sidebar for the same connected host.
