VS Code extension: support VS Code notifications

What feature would you like to see?

I would like the Codex VS Code extension to support notifications through VS Code's own notification UI.

When I have multiple VS Code windows or workspaces open, it can be hard to know which Codex session needs attention.

A VS Code notification would make this clearer because it could appear in the relevant VS Code window and provide context about the workspace or Codex session.

Additional information

As far as I know, VS Code extensions can use VS Code's notification API.

I also saw existing discussions around sound notifications. Sound notifications are useful, but when multiple VS Code windows are open, sound alone does not make it clear which VS Code window, workspace, or Codex session the notification came from.

For that reason, I think VS Code notifications would be helpful for users who work with multiple VS Code windows or projects.
