Codex mobile stays offline with red dot after repeated re-pairing; Reconnect does nothing

What happened?

Codex mobile shows my Mac as offline with a red status dot. Tapping Reconnect does not appear to do anything.

I have disconnected and re-paired several times, but the mobile app returns to the same state: red dot, offline, reconnect ineffective.

Steps tried

  • Quit and reopened Codex on Mac
  • Disconnected and re-paired mobile multiple times
  • Logged out and back in on both Mac Codex and ChatGPT mobile
  • Restarted both apps
  • Tried re-pairing from a fresh QR code
  • Mac Codex being closed did not visibly change the mobile state
  • The mobile app still appears to show the same/offline connection record

Expected behavior

After pairing, the Mac should appear online in Codex mobile, and Reconnect should restore the session if the connection drops.

Actual behavior

The mobile app continues to show the Mac as offline with a red dot. Reconnect has no visible effect.

Environment

  • Mac: Apple Silicon arm64
  • macOS: 26.5, build 25F71
  • Codex Mac app version: unknown
  • ChatGPT mobile app version: unknown
  • Mobile OS: unknown
  • Account/workspace: same account/workspace used on both Mac and mobile

Notes

This looks similar to other reports where Codex mobile can see a desktop record but cannot establish the live connection/heartbeat after pairing.
