What steps can reproduce the bug?
Cant login to Codex from vmware/vm Ubuntu instance on Windows, due to the use of localhost in the browser.

you need forward port 1455
Yeah that didnt work. What I had to do was manually pass the URI from the browser to the terminal and doing a curl call locally. Codex wasnt listening to my VM's ip and was locked to 127.0.0.1. Curl to localhost got me auth.json
Such a pain in the butt.
