Codex lock-screen operation permission can hang macOS login after lid close

Environment

• App: Codex desktop app
• - macOS: macOS 26.5.1
• - - Hardware: MacBook Air M4
• - - - Feature involved: Settings -> Computer Control -> Lock Screen Operation

Issue

After enabling the Codex "Lock Screen Operation" permission, closing the MacBook lid and reopening it consistently caused macOS to hang at the login screen.

Observed behavior

• After opening the lid, the macOS login screen appears.
• - Touch ID/password authentication succeeds.
• - - The spinner/loading indicator under the login area keeps spinning.
• - - - The desktop never appears.
• - - - - The only recovery is holding the power button to force shutdown, then booting again.

Reproduction

1. Enable Codex Computer Control permissions.
2. 2. Enable "Lock Screen Operation" permission.
3. 3. Close the MacBook lid.
4. 4. Reopen the lid.
5. 5. Authenticate with Touch ID or password.

Expected behavior

After successful authentication, macOS should return to the desktop.

Workaround

Disabling "Lock Screen Operation", quitting Codex, restarting the Mac, and testing again fixed the issue. After disabling that permission, closing/reopening the lid allowed Touch ID to return directly to the desktop normally.

Notes

This started after configuring/testing Codex extensively. External drive and screensaver were ruled out: the issue reproduced without the external drive, and disabling the screensaver did not fix it. The specific workaround was disabling Codex's lock-screen operation permission.
