Integrate with built-in VS Code Chat features

First, congrats to the 10 million VS Code installs!

I'm a user coming from GitHub Copilot (June's been rough 😅) and am very used to VS Code's chat integration with it.

When looking for other options to GitHub Copilot I hoped Codex could be a great fit. And even though the pricing (subscription, not API) is attractive, I'm missing all the tight IDE integration I'm used to. Don't get me wrong, the Codex extension is pretty great, compared to a lot of other stuff. But I'm just not as productive that I was before.

Specifically, I wanted to ask if you could provide the Codex models using something like the Language Model Chat Provider API of VS Code.
I think this would enable the user to use almost all VS Code built-in AI features.

The things that I miss most:

• Settings sync between machines (Agents, skills, Instructions, Prompts, etc.)
• Quick Fix Support
• Browser Control Support
• Integrated Diff View (codex is pretty good, but the diff is still a whole different tab)
• GUI to temporarily enable/disable tools
• also the new Agents Window of VS Code looks very nice, but I cannot use it with the Codex subscription
