What subscription do you have?

What issue are you seeing?

Something's off with Codex tokens. I burnt through my entire plan in less than a few hours and now I have topped up credits and it just burnt through half of them in like 5 minutes 😱😱

I guess this is what a slot machine really feels like 😭

Can someone please look into this? Definitely not normal, and not the experience I've had over the last 2 weeks since I started using Codex. Something's off.

And the worst part is I was right in the middle of an update to my iOS World Cup app and the World Cup is about to start.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Feedback ID: 019e7cbd-cda2-7272-b9f3-9f43dc5f84b7

What is the expected behavior?

Tokens/credits last longer.
Top ups are not consumed in 5-10 mins. Literally burnt $100 in less than 10 minutes. Check top up logs and you'll see this.

Additional information

This is completely unprecedented behaviour. I've attached some logs showing the rapid depletion of credits, which seems far beyond any normal usage patterns.

Yeah I'm genuinely struggling to understand how the yellow box is suppposed to be a week of 20x, the green box is what I am used to and was expecting.

I'm supposed to be renewing my pro subscription and have been waiting for an answer. Think It's time to swap to Deepseek

Looks like I used all of... 900M tokens in the past week. Compared to about 18B/wk prior, still says 20x on the plan. Guess the fun is over and it is in fact, not time to fly

I hear ya and I understand your frustration. Same. I hope they fix it asap. But I actually have faith in them and I believe they will figure it out eventually. I'm definitely not going to jump ship and if I ever did, I would never side with the Chinese.

I felt like I was scammed. With the same usage across different tiers ($200 and $100), the $200 tier showed similar or even faster consumption on identical tasks. I was expecting to get more work done with the higher tier, but instead I ended up with the same or even less work completed for double the budget.

Good job, OpenAI. Now you just need to release a $400 tier that does the same thing. As long as it works continue that way, best monetization model ever

I am facing this exact issue as well since June 7th.

Around 8:00 PM IST, I received the message:

"Your rate limit resets on Jul 7, 2026, 5:06 PM."

It is now June 12th, and my usage limit still hasn't reset. Additionally, I am seeing another message from Codex stating:

"Upgrade or use one of your rate limit resets now."

...which includes a reset button.

This just happened to me. It's still happening. A couple of hours worth of work drained 1000 credits.
