Hint showing you can now paste images with Ctrl+V

What feature would you like to see?

Think it would be good to add a simple "Ctrl+V paste image" hint, similar to Claude Code.

Personally didn't even realize the shortcut was added, ~~not sure how long ago it's been here atp~~, but randomly tried CTRL V and found you guys finally added images :)

Are you interested in implementing this feature?

yurrr seems easy and i wanna say i 'contributed' to OpenAI codex 🦭
i use codex daily and it'd be nice to see smtg i did hehe

Additional information

Assume someone's already pointed this out,,, too lazy to check

edit: turns out pasting images is quite a recent addition (just yesterday) lol https://github.com/openai/codex/commit/468a8b4c38bc9b8651db9607f122c2eb50ff4730 nice to see codex's improvements over the past few months

Can you believe that on Mac, the shortcut for pasting images is Ctrl+V instead of Cmd+V, which is different from pasting text? Are OpenAI's own people actually using this product, or do they only have Windows machines?

im pretty sure that wouldn't be possible, or at least practical: on macOS terminals, ⌘V is owned by the terminal emulator (Terminal/iTerm/VS Code), not by apps running inside the actual terminal itself. the emulator handles ⌘V and injects text into the TUI; i dont even know if the application sees the Command-key event.

Claude Code does the exact same thing actually

Paste screenshots (pro tip: hit cmd+ctrl+shift+4 in macOS to screenshot to clipboard and ctrl+v to paste. Note that this is not cmd+v like you would usually use to paste on mac and does not work remotely.)

Very strange. Although the Claude Code documentation describes using Ctrl+V to paste images, in VSCode's terminal I can use both Cmd+V and Ctrl+V to paste images, but in the system's built-in terminal, only Ctrl+V works for pasting images
