Codex Desktop on macOS: input box frequently loses cursor focus and becomes impossible to type

What issue are you seeing?

I’m experiencing a serious input focus bug in Codex Desktop on macOS.

The input box often suddenly loses cursor focus. After that happens, I can no longer type normally in the input field. Sometimes the cursor appears to be gone, or the input box no longer stays focused even after clicking it.

This makes Codex Desktop very difficult to use for continuous conversations or coding tasks, because I have to repeatedly interrupt my workflow just to regain input focus.

This feels like an input-focus / caret / hit-test regression in the Codex Desktop UI.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Open Codex Desktop on macOS.
2. Start using Codex normally and type in the input box.
3. Leave Codex open, then switch to other applications or do something else for a while.
4. Come back to the Codex window.
5. Try to click the input box and continue typing.
6. The input box sometimes cannot regain cursor focus.
7. Even after clicking the input box multiple times, the cursor still does not appear and typing does not work.
8. The only temporary workaround is to switch between Codex and other macOS apps several times, or close and reopen Codex.

What is the expected behavior?

The input box should keep cursor focus when selected.

After I click the input field, I should be able to type normally and continuously without the input box randomly losing focus.

The device has strong hardware specs, so this does not look like a general performance limitation:
