There were messages in between these 2 I sent that I wanted to reference but they've disappeared from the app. I see them on the CLI. Codex immediately compacted when I sent the message so not sure if thats related.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Maybe try triggering the compaction at the beginning of the chat
