What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
0.139.0
What subscription do you have?
pro 20x
What platform is your computer?
mac
What issue are you seeing?
I updated to Codex Desktop 26.601.10930 recently and hit a problem today.
I had a goal running for about an hour when Codex attempted an automatic context compaction and failed with:
Error running remote compact task: stream disconnected before completion: error sending request for url (https://chatgpt.com/backend-api/codex/responses/compact)»
After that, the goal stopped and showed "Goal blocked".
I remember previous versions automatically retrying compaction failures. This time the goal just stopped.
I clicked Resume and it continued, but then it kept asking for confirmations/approvals even though I had already granted full permissions at the beginning of the session.
Codex Desktop Version: 26.601.10930
Codex Version: codex-cli 0.139.0
What steps can reproduce the bug?
run long goal task
What is the expected behavior?
- retry auto compact again.
- when I click resume, it shouldn't ask for permission for every command.
