Side chat is missing the “Copy as Markdown” action

Summary

In Codex Desktop, the main chat menu provides a Copy → Copy as Markdown action, but side chats do not appear to have the same Copy as Markdown option.

Environment

• Codex app version: 26.609.41114
• Release date shown in app: Jun 12, 2026
• macOS: Tahoe 26.5.1
• Device: MacBook Pro 16-inch, Apple M5 Max, 128 GB memory
• Plan: Pro

Current behavior

When using a normal/main Codex chat, the chat menu includes:

• Copy working directory
• Copy session ID
• Copy deeplink
• Copy as Markdown

However, when using a side chat, I cannot find a Copy as Markdown action for that side-chat transcript.

Expected behavior

Side chats should also support Copy as Markdown, ideally in the same or a similarly discoverable menu location as normal chats.

Why this matters

Side chats often contain useful debugging notes, temporary analysis, reproduction steps, or decisions made while the main task is running. Without Copy as Markdown, it is harder to export or preserve the side-chat content for reports, GitHub issues, handoffs, or personal notes.

Please add Copy as Markdown support for side chats as well, so users can export side-chat transcripts consistently with normal Codex chats.
