Hi,

I’m seeing a duplicate user input rendering issue when using the /goal command.

Version: 26.609.41114
Release: 12 Jun 2026

Clarification:
This is not about ACP plan mode itself. ACP plan mode is what I’m trying to implement. The actual issue is that when a user submits input through /goal, the same user input appears twice in the chat timeline.

Expected behavior:
When I submit a goal using /goal, the user input should be displayed only once.

Actual behavior:
The same user input is rendered twice in the conversation. This makes it look like the goal was submitted twice, even though it may only be a UI rendering issue.

Steps to reproduce:

Open Codex version 26.609.41114.
Start a session.
Submit a prompt using /goal.
Observe the conversation timeline.
The same user input appears twice.

Screenshot:
Attached screenshot shows the duplicated /goal input.

Could you please check whether /goal is rendering the submitted user input twice, or if the input is actually being sent twice internally?

What steps can reproduce the bug?

/goal message

What is the expected behavior?
