Codex Help Scout plugin: no connection

Open 💬 1 comment Opened Jun 16, 2026 by wildky

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.609.71450

What subscription do you have?

Pro 5x

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 25.5.0 x86_64 i386

What issue are you seeing?

I install the Help Scout plug in on Codex app. It installs successfully. I go through the "Connect" flow and it _says_ it connects successfully, but it doesn't actually seem to. Codex cannot see a connection, and the "Connect" button is always there, as if the connection was never made.

I tried the Connect flow multiple times, I updated and restarted the Codex app.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  • Install the Help Scout plugin
  • click the "Connect" button on the plug in page
  • Click the "Continue to Help Scout" button in the "Connect to Help Scout" modal in the Codex app
  • In the Help Scout app in Chrome browser, click the "Authorize" button
  • Be re-routed to the Codex app and wait for the "Connect" button progress bar to stop spinning
  • See the "Help Scout is now connected" success modal
  • See that the "Connect" button returns immediately, insinuating that there is still no connection.
  • Try using Help Scout in a codex session. It will say the plugin exists but that there is no connection.
  • Try to go through the "Connect" flow again. Repeat steps above with same results.

What is the expected behavior?

When I complete the "Connect" flow, I expect the connection to be made and to be able to access my Help Scout content from a codex session.
