What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.611.61049

What subscription do you have?

Pro 200$

What platform is your computer?

MAC M4

What issue are you seeing?

When device B has previously opened project X remotely from device A, creating a new local project with the same name X on device B causes the default conversation dialog to open as a new conversation under device A’s remote project X, instead of opening or creating a conversation under device B’s local project X.

This makes it look like the user is starting a conversation for the local project, while the conversation is actually associated with the remote project.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Have a project named X on device A.
  2. From device B, remotely add a new session on device A’s project X.
  3. On device B, create a new local project also named X.
  4. Open the default conversation entry for the local project X on device B.

What is the expected behavior?

The default dialog should start a new conversation associated with device B’s local project X.

If multiple projects share the same name, the system should distinguish them by source, path, or a stable project identifier.
