What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.611.62324

What subscription do you have?

Pro

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 25.5.0 arm64 arm

What issue are you seeing?

Hello Codex team,

I’m experiencing a regression in the Dock icon settings.

Issue:
In the Dock icon settings, the “Codex Light” option now displays the same icon as “Default”. Previously, “Codex Light” used a white/black line-style icon, but it now appears to fall back to the colorful default icon.

Environment:

  • Codex version: 26.611.62324
  • macOS: darwin 26.5.0

What I tried:

  • Restarted Codex
  • Re-downloaded and reinstalled Codex
  • The issue still persists

Please investigate whether the “Codex Light” Dock icon asset is missing, incorrectly mapped, or falling back to the default icon.

Thank you.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Feedback ID: 019ecf54-0cc7-7be1-b8d3-f4068db49878

What is the expected behavior?

“Codex Light” should display the original light-style Dock icon instead of matching “Default”.

Actual behavior:
“Codex Light” displays the same icon as “Default”.

The white icon you removed was incredible! Would you consider bringing it back as an option? I think many users would appreciate having the choice. 🙏🏻

Correction/update: my earlier wording here was too broad.

This report (#28861) is about a Codex Light option that exists but renders like the Default icon. The issue I am seeing in the newer unified ChatGPT/Codex desktop app is slightly different: a true Codex Light icon/asset does not appear to be available as a first-class icon choice.

I opened a more precise issue for that here: #34020
