What platform is your computer?
Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64
What issue are you seeing?
After the Codex App updated from version 26.616.3309.0 to 26.616.3767.0, its Windows notification-area (system tray) icon changed from the blue Codex icon to a white monochrome icon.
On the standard light Windows taskbar and the hidden-icons panel, the white icon has almost no contrast against the background and is very difficult to see. This is an accessibility and usability regression: the Codex icon can no longer be identified quickly among other tray icons.
The current package contains the white icon at:
app\resources\codex-tray.ico
Restarting Codex and Windows does not restore the previous icon.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Install and run Codex App for Windows version 26.616.3767.0.
- Use the light Windows theme/taskbar.
- Open the notification-area overflow by clicking the hidden-icons arrow in the taskbar.
- Locate the Codex tray icon.
- Observe that the icon is white and blends into the light background.
The issue appeared immediately after updating from Codex App version 26.616.3309.0.
What is the expected behavior?
Please restore the previous blue Codex tray icon, or provide a theme-aware tray icon with sufficient contrast on both light and dark Windows taskbars.
The icon should remain clearly visible and recognizable in the notification area regardless of the selected Windows theme.
Additional information
The Microsoft Store currently uses the recognizable blue Codex artwork, while the installed tray resource is white monochrome. The blue icon was substantially easier to identify.
Switching the entire Windows interface to dark mode is not an acceptable workaround for an application icon contrast regression. Please replace the current white codex-tray.ico with the correct blue icon, or implement automatic light/dark variants.
Affected versions observed:
- Previous: 26.616.3309.0 — blue/visible tray icon
- Current: 26.616.3767.0 — white/low-contrast tray icon
