I was able to fix this issue by downgrading the Codex VS Code extension to version 26.609.30741.

After installing that version and restarting VS Code, Codex worked again without the Codex process is not available / state db discrepancy error.

OMG, you are life-saver. I was able to fix this issue by downgrading it to the version you mentioned. I suddently had the same problem a few days ago, and I had no problems before! I have just turned off auto-update because it seems like the new versions have bugs that are incompatible with my Mac
