Issue:
Both built-in pets and custom pets briefly switch to the running animation when a task starts, but after a few seconds they automatically fall back to idle even while the task is still running. After a task completes, the review/completed animation also only appears briefly and then returns to idle.

Impact:
The pet cannot be used as a reliable task-progress indicator. The notification card still shows the correct task state, but the pet animation no longer reflects it.

Expected:

  • While a task is running, the pet should continue looping the running animation.
  • When a task is ready for review/completed, the pet should continue showing the review/completed state until the task state changes or the notification is dismissed.

Environment:
Codex Desktop on Windows
Version: 26.616.5445.0
