Codex desktop spellcheck underlines misspellings but context menu shows “No Guesses Found”

Environment:

  • Codex desktop app on Windows
  • Codex version: 26.611.8604.0
  • Language: English (en-US)

Issue:
The Codex chat input underlines misspelled words, but right-clicking the underlined word shows “No Guesses Found” instead of spelling suggestions.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Codex desktop app on Windows.
  2. Type a misspelled word in the chat input, e.g. “teh” or “wrte”.
  3. Right-click the underlined word.

Expected:
The context menu should suggest corrections such as “the” for “teh” and “write” for “wrte”.

Actual:
The context menu says “No Guesses Found”.

Troubleshooting already tried:

  • Windows spellcheck/autocorrect enabled.
  • English (en-US) language capability installed.
  • Codex Chromium/Electron preferences set to en-US.
  • Chromium dictionary files installed:
  • en-US-9-0.bdic
  • en-US-10-1.bdic
  • Restarted Codex.

Additional note:
Misspelling detection works because the red underline appears. The problem seems limited to suggestion candidates not being exposed in the context menu.
