New Windows Codex app tray icon is low quality and less distinctive than the previous one; consider giving users a choice between colored and monochrome icons

What issue are you seeing?

Problem 1:

The new icon has low quality, with sharp edges instead of being smooth and tidy like the previous one and all other tray icons.

Problem 2:

The monochrome icon instead of a colored icon:

• Is not consistent with the actual app icon.
• Is not consistent with the current convention for Windows tray icons, where most icons are colored, not white. If they are all white, they will be indistinguishable from each other due to their tiny size.
• Overall, it is a poor UI and design choice because humans perceive colored icons better than monochrome ones, and there is research confirming this.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Update the Windows Codex Desktop App to v26.616.41845.
2. Notice the tray icon degradation.

What is the expected behavior?

• A good-quality tray icon instead of a sharp-edged, pixelated icon.
• No monochrome icon, or an option to choose between a colored and a monochrome icon.
