What subscription do you have?

What platform is your computer?

  • macOS Tahoe 26.5.1
  • MacBook Pro 16-inch
  • Apple M5 Max
  • 128 GB memory

What issue are you seeing?

In the left sidebar chat list, older chats appear to be capped at 1mo instead of showing a more accurate relative age or date.

For example, under a project/chat section, multiple older conversations are all shown as:

1mo

even though some of those chats are significantly older than one month.

This makes the sidebar timeline misleading. When I want to locate chats from a specific month, the incorrect 1mo labels interfere with navigation because they make it look like all chats below that point happened around one month ago.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Codex Desktop.
  2. Open the left sidebar chat history.
  3. Scroll to older chats inside a project/chat section.
  4. Check the relative timestamps shown on the right side of each chat row.

Expected behavior

Older chats should show accurate relative ages or dates, for example 2mo, 3mo, a month/year label, or another clear timestamp format that allows users to distinguish chats from different months.

Actual behavior

Chats older than one month continue to display as 1mo, so many older chats appear to have the same approximate date.

Impact

This causes confusion when trying to precisely locate chats from a certain month. It can make users incorrectly assume that all chats below the current visible section happened around one month ago.

Additional information

This was observed in the left sidebar chat list on the current Codex Desktop build 26.616.81150.
