Feature: session groups with named presets & config (Codex IDE extension)
Resolved 💬 1 comment Opened Aug 31, 2025 by Yish-AI Closed Nov 27, 2025
What feature would you like to see?
Enable defining “session groups” in the IDE extension. A group pairs a custom name with settings like reasoning_effort and mode.
User flow / design:
- “Create group” → name + settings (reasoning_effort: low|med|high, mode: Chat|Agent|Agent-Full)
- Start session → pick group → auto-apply settings
- Manage groups: list, rename, delete, reassign session
- Data persists across IDE restarts & reboots
Why it matters:
Current CLI supports named sessions, but the IDE doesn’t. Grouping cuts context-switch friction, enforces presets per workflow, and syncs IDE & CLI experience.
