Assistant messages are duplicated as progressively longer snapshots. For example, the CLI shows and/or persists output like:

I also see repeated full progress messages many times in a row.
This is not just a cosmetic display issue. The duplicated content appears to be persisted into the thread context. One affected thread became unusable with:

Sending a follow-up such as "continue" fails the same way:

Expected behavior:
A single assistant turn should be stored once. Streaming updates should be coalesced into one final assistant message, not persisted as multiple partial or cumulative assistant
messages.
Impact:
Long-running threads become unrecoverable because the duplicated transcript inflates the prompt beyond the model context limit. Starting a new thread works temporarily, but the
issue can reproduce again.
This seems closely related to the cumulative streaming/history persistence issues reported in #29755 and the CJK/context blow-up behavior reported in #26305.
