What platform is your computer?

What issue are you seeing?
Codex App Update Too Frequently, almost every several days.
The updates are not backward compatible with SSH codex CLI and connection fails after the update.
In corporate, the SSH CLI version on dev machines cannot keep up with the frequent codex app update.
And one cannot disable the codex app auto update, it always update after it's restart, then break the SSH connection.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Use codex app everyday with SSH to a remote machine, it will break fairly soon because of not compatible with the remote codex CLI.
What is the expected behavior?
Allow to disable auto-update.
Or
Backward compatible with codex CLI.

Exactly, i am travelling and I have a metered connection, just in the last few hours it has used over 2GB for updates.
It's updating a minimum of daily now, this is getting really annoying, it's almost as bad as VS Code. We really need release channels with nightly, preview, stable, and LTS channels. Updates should come at a steady cadence with significant features and stability improvements, security and hotfixes should only be released if needed and there should be an option to stay on a stable release for an extended time.
And when I say a "nightly" channel I mean it - not multiple updates per day, one scheduled build each night on a predictable cadence, not randomly in the middle of a work day.
