Codex App sidebar icons look blurry after latest update on Retina display
What version of the Codex App are you using (From "About Codex" dialog)?
26.623.42026 (build 4514)
Bundled CLI: codex-cli 0.142.3
What subscription do you have?
Plus
What platform is your computer?
Darwin 25.5.0 arm64 arm
macOS 26.5.1 (25F80), built-in Liquid Retina Display, 2880 x 1864 Retina
What issue are you seeing?
After updating to the latest Codex App version, the icons in the left sidebar look visibly blurry/low-resolution on a Retina display.
The affected icons include the top-level sidebar actions such as New Chat, Search, Scheduled, Plugins, and the project/thread icons below them. The adjacent text appears comparatively sharper, so this looks like the icons may be rendered with a low-resolution raster asset or with the wrong high-DPI/device-pixel-ratio scaling.
The UI language is Chinese, but the issue appears to be with icon rendering rather than translated text.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Open Codex App 26.623.42026 on macOS with a built-in Retina display.
- Keep the left sidebar visible.
- Look at the sidebar icons for New Chat, Search, Scheduled, Plugins, and project/thread rows.
- Compare the icon sharpness against nearby text and against the previous app version.
The issue appeared after updating to the current/latest Codex App version.
What is the expected behavior?
Sidebar icons should render sharply on Retina/high-DPI displays, with no visible blur or low-resolution scaling artifacts.
Additional information
A screenshot was captured at 2534 x 1628, 144 DPI. I did not attach the full screenshot because it contains private sidebar project/thread names, but I can provide a cropped screenshot of the navigation icons if helpful.
