Codex Desktop Windows: Remote archived conversations do not appear in Archived Conversations

Summary

In Codex Desktop for Windows, Archived Conversations works for local conversations, but archived conversations from remote projects do not appear in the Archived Conversations view, even though the archive operation appears to succeed on the remote machine.

Environment

  • OS: Windows
  • Codex Desktop version: 26.623.42026
  • Release date shown in app: 2026-06-27
  • Affected scope: remote project conversations
  • Local archived conversations: visible as expected

Reproduction steps

  1. Open Codex Desktop on Windows.
  2. Connect to / open a remote project.
  3. Archive a conversation from the remote project's sidebar.
  4. Observe that the conversation disappears from the sidebar.
  5. Open Settings → Archived Conversations / Archived Threads while in the remote context/settings.
  6. Search for the archived remote conversation.

Expected behavior

Archived remote project conversations should appear in the Archived Conversations view for that remote context and should be recoverable/unarchivable from there.

Actual behavior

  • The archived remote conversation disappears from the sidebar.
  • Settings → Archived Conversations shows: No archived conversations / 暂无已归档的聊天 for the remote context.
  • Search cannot find the archived remote conversation.
  • Restarting Codex Desktop does not fix it.
  • Local archived conversations are visible, so this appears specific to remote project archived sessions.

Additional observations

On the remote machine, the remote archived_sessions folder does receive a newly archived session file. So the archive operation itself appears to succeed on the remote side, but Codex Desktop does not surface those remote archived sessions in the UI.

This suggests the issue may be in the Desktop archived-session list/query/index layer for remote projects rather than in the archive write path itself.

Impact

Remote project conversations become inaccessible from the Desktop UI after archiving: they disappear from the sidebar, do not show in Archived Conversations, and cannot be found via search.
