What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
Codex Desktop Windows 26.623.5175.0
What subscription do you have?
Plus
What platform is your computer?
Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64
What issue are you seeing?
I’m seeing what appears to be the same issue on Windows Codex Desktop.
Codex Desktop version:
26.623.5175.0
Feedback ID:
no-active-thread-019f0a14-dfd3-7742-8f7a-300942fcb7fb
Behavior:
Old/existing chats still work, but creating a new chat/task from Codex Desktop fails.
Errors:
- Error creating task: Invalid request: AbsolutePathBuf deserialized without a base path
- Error starting chat: Invalid request: AbsolutePathBuf deserialized without a base path
Additional detail:
Creating a new chat from remote/mobile works, and the newer chats then appear on desktop. Desktop just cannot create new chats itself.
Environment:
- Windows
- Codex CLI works
- Node/npm doctor passes
- Repo is valid
- Reset-AppxPackage did not fix it
- Renaming app local package state did not fix it
This started after I ran a remote task. When I returned to desktop, Codex Desktop could not send commands. After dependency/app repair, old chats worked again, but desktop-created new chats still fail.
What steps can reproduce the bug?

What is the expected behavior?
That I can open a new chat.
Additional information
This all started happening after I did a remote task one morning, when I sat down at the computer it was completely broken, and I couldn't send any commands, then I attempted re-install and I could then use old chats but the chat was desynced, so I did a windows reset now I can see newer chats, but I can only open a new chat from remote. LOL
