Environment
- OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro
- Windows version: 10.0.26100 Build 26100
- Codex app version: 26.623.8305.0
- Install source: Microsoft Store
- Theme: reproduced in both light and dark mode
Issue
The Codex tray icon area exists and the tooltip shows Codex, but the icon renders as blank/white in the Windows system tray.
Steps Tried
I already tried:
- Restarting Codex
- Restarting
explorer.exe - Switching Windows light/dark theme
- Rebooting Windows
- Reinstalling Codex
- Clearing the Codex entry under
HKCU:\Control Panel\NotifyIconSettings - Starting Codex again after clearing the tray icon cache
Result
The tray icon is still blank/white.
Expected Behavior
The Codex tray icon should render normally in the Windows system tray.

Additional finding: the tray icon appears correctly when Windows is switched to dark mode, but becomes blank/white again in light mode. This suggests the Windows tray icon may be using a white/monochrome asset without adapting to the light system tray background.
