[macOS app] Usage dashboard does not show Plus/Pro tier behind remaining usage percentage

Summary

The issue is with the Codex macOS app and Codex usage dashboard UI.

After upgrading from ChatGPT Plus to ChatGPT Pro, the Codex macOS app and Codex usage dashboard do not clearly identify whether the remaining usage percentage corresponds to Plus, Pro 5x, or Pro 20x limits.

This makes it hard to verify that the Codex app has picked up the correct ChatGPT Pro entitlement.

What I expected

The Codex macOS app or Codex usage dashboard should show the active Codex entitlement/tier, for example:

• Plus
• Pro 5x
• Pro 20x
• Business / Enterprise, if applicable
• API key, if usage is API-key billed instead of ChatGPT-plan billed

It should also be clear whether the current app session is using ChatGPT subscription access or API-key access.

What happens instead

The Codex usage dashboard shows a remaining-usage percentage such as 99%, but does not identify the tier or absolute quota behind that percentage.

A user can therefore see 99% remaining but still not know whether that means:

• 99% of Plus limits
• 99% of Pro 5x limits
• 99% of Pro 20x limits

Why this is confusing

In the ChatGPT app, the user can see Pro-specific thinking/model options. In the Codex macOS app, the highest reasoning-effort control appears as Extra High / xhigh, which is a separate Codex reasoning-effort setting rather than a visible Pro tier indicator.

That distinction may be technically correct, but from a user perspective it creates ambiguity after paying for Pro: there is no obvious place in Codex to confirm that the macOS app is actually using the upgraded Pro entitlement.

Suggested fix

Add a visible entitlement label to the Codex macOS app and/or usage dashboard, such as:

• Plan: ChatGPT Pro 5x
• Plan: ChatGPT Pro 20x
• Auth: ChatGPT subscription
• Auth: API key billing

Ideally the in-app status view should also include this information, not just the remaining percentage.

Environment

• Product: Codex macOS app / Codex usage dashboard
• Account state: recently upgraded from ChatGPT Plus to ChatGPT Pro
• Observed behavior: dashboard shows remaining percentage but no tier identification
• Bundled Codex binary version shown by app: codex-cli 0.142.4

Impact

This creates avoidable support churn and user distrust, because users cannot independently verify that Codex picked up a paid Pro upgrade even when usage remains high.
