Codex Desktop /pet overlay often omits current task bubble

What issue are you seeing?
When I wake or use the Codex Desktop pet overlay with /pet while a Codex session is still running, the pet usually appears without the current task/status bubble. That makes it hard to tell whether the session is still active, waiting for input, or done while working outside the main Codex window.
The issue is the bubble often not appearing at all. This is different from text clipping/truncation inside a visible bubble.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Open Codex Desktop on macOS.
- Start a task that keeps running long enough to observe from outside the main thread view.
- Wake or show the pet overlay using /pet, the Wake Pet command, or an already-open pet overlay.
- Observe the pet overlay while the Codex session is still running.
Actual result: the pet overlay often shows the pet without the current task/status bubble, so there is no clear visible indication that the session is still running.
What is the expected behavior?
The pet overlay should consistently show the active thread/current task bubble, or an equivalent state indicator, whenever Codex is running, waiting for input, blocked, done, or ready for review. It should be possible to tell at a glance whether the current session is still active.

I searched existing issues before filing. Related but not exact:
- #20727 requests a compact main-agent status indicator.
- #23281 reports an oversized pet clipping the running status bubble.
- #24523 reports thought-bubble text truncation.
This report is specifically about the current task/status bubble often not appearing at all.
