Git actions and local enviroment actions are not working/showing

What platform is your computer?

Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64

What issue are you seeing?

Git actions and status are gone from the taskbar. Also local enviroment actions are not shown anymore.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

run chat in git repo or repo with local environment.

What is the expected behavior?

git actions (commit, change branch, etc) and local enviroment actions are viable and actionable.

I can reproduce this on macOS with the latest Codex Desktop shown by the in-app updater.

Environment:

  • Codex Desktop: 26.623.141536, build 4753
  • Codex CLI: 0.142.5
  • macOS: 26.5.2 arm64
  • Auth mode: ChatGPT
  • Project is trusted in ~/.codex/config.toml

What is broken:

  • Local environment actions from .codex/environments/environment.toml are not shown.
  • Worktree / Cloud launch UI is not shown.
  • Native right-side Git/Changes controls are not visible by default.

What works:

  • Ctrl+Shift+G opens the Review/Git panel, so Git detection is not completely broken.
  • codex doctor detects the repo root, branch, and Git remote.
  • codex cloud list --json succeeds and returns an empty task list, so the Cloud API is reachable from CLI.

Project evidence:

  • Repo is a valid Git repo with GitHub origin.
  • .codex/environments/environment.toml exists and contains an action:

scripts/sync-local-wordpress.sh

  • The action is not rendered in the Desktop UI.
  • This may explain missing Cloud/remote-control UI, but it should not hide local environment actions.

This looks like the same Desktop UI exposure regression as #30659, #30484, #31197, and #30344, but with an additional confirmation that Ctrl+Shift+G can still open Git review while environment actions and Cloud launch remain missing.
