Bug
In the Codex desktop app, using a project folder’s three-dot menu and selecting “Mark all as read” does not mark the project’s unread threads as read.
Steps to reproduce
- Open the Codex desktop app.
- In the left sidebar, find a project folder with unread threads.
- Click the project folder’s three-dot menu.
- Check/select “Mark all as read.”
- Observe the visible unread threads in that project.
Expected behavior
All unread threads in that project are marked as read, including the visible ones.
Actual behavior
The visible unread threads remain unread.
Environment
- Codex app: 26.623.81905 (CFBundleShortVersionString)
- Bundled Codex CLI: codex-cli 0.142.5
- macOS: 26.5 (25F71)
Notes
This appears to affect the project-level bulk read action, not just hidden or filtered threads. I searched public openai/codex issues for similar “mark all as read”/unread-thread reports and did not find an obvious duplicate.
