Restarting Extensions deletes chat history

What version of the VS Code extension are you using?

What steps can reproduce the bug?
Perform various tasks in codex and then restart extensions in VSCode, the previous chats are deleted
What is the expected behavior?
The Chats should be retained, if we want review any previous work or have to pickup the next day where we left off.

Same issue locally on macOS and in Remote SSH sessions (Cursor IDE).
