Codex CLI 0.142.5 crashes with zsh: trace trap / SIGTRAP on macOS 12.6.3 x86_64, MacBookAir9,1. The crash occurs even with a clean CODEX_HOME and in an empty directory. codex doctor reports 0 warn / 0 fail. Crash report shows EXC_BREAKPOINT / Trace/BPT trap: 5, faulting in v8::base::OS::SetPermissions -> v8::internal::CodeRange::InitReservation -> v8::internal::Heap::SetUp -> v8::internal::Isolate::Init. Earlier Antigravity logs showed thread_tools feature mismatch, but after updating both CLI and Codex.app to 0.142.5 the remaining failure is a native V8 SIGTRAP.

its been crashign for me in fish too

multiple times now,e ven after restart
I removed everything I could find for codex. Updated all other packages. did a fresh install and every single prompt I give it causes a SIGTRAP failure. I'm not sure how to fix this, and I ready to cancel my account and switch to claude.
I got codex desktop app working. I used that to help fix the problem. It seems that build is distributing and invalid application signature with v8. It is possibly specific to Intel chip macs.
I have the exact same issue on macOS 12.6.2 x86_64, MacBookPro11,4
I changed the model to GPT 5.4 and not no problem anymore.
