'control other devices' doesn't actually exist in the app on windows.
in codex connection settings, I can do this:

but there is not a 'control other devices section in the connection settings:

What steps can reproduce the bug?
- go to connections in codex app
- click add under control other devices
- click 'computer' in the pop up window
- instructions say 'on other device...'
- in codex app in connection settings on another computer, 'control other devices' does not display.
What is the expected behavior?
control other devices should be available to enter the pairing code.

This appears to be the same Windows missing-controller-tab issue tracked in #28919. I maintain an unofficial open-source workaround for it:

The latest v2.1.6 release provides a one-click Windows installer and a tray supervisor that keeps Control other devices available after Codex restarts and compatible updates:

This is a community workaround rather than official Windows support; please review the source/README before installing.
Same experience here — the tab exists in the Windows package, it's just hidden/gated, and the Windows device-key path is macOS-only. I made an open-source local fix: https://github.com/naipi11/Codex-Control-other-devices-Windows
It re-enables the entry, handles device-key generation + DPAPI storage on Windows, and keeps a tray supervisor so it still works after Codex updates/restarts. Verified on Win 11 / Codex Desktop 26.803.10989.0. Not official — just a working community workaround while this stays open.
