Codex CLI v0.142.5 appears to have lost or switched usage entitlement state after a service-tier change.
Timeline:
- I used a manual usage reset.
- I set Codex priority/service tier to Fast.
- I used Codex until the 5-hour limit was drained.
- At that point, /status still showed Weekly limit 66% left, resetting Jul 11.
- I then changed priority/service tier from Fast back to Default.
- I attempted one new turn after the 5-hour limit was exhausted.
- Codex immediately blocked with:
"Your workspace is out of credits. Add credits to continue."
- After that, /status showed Weekly limit 0% left, resetting Jul 6.
The usage dashboard does not show a usage spike that explains a 66% weekly drop from a single attempted turn. The reset date also changed from Jul 11 to Jul 6, which does not look like normal consumption of one weekly bucket.
Please check whether Codex CLI v0.142.5 is switching between stale or different entitlement buckets after priority/service-tier changes, especially between Fast, Default, included weekly usage, 5-hour usage, and workspace-credit accounting for this Business workspace.
The main issue is not just that Credits are 0; the issue is that the CLI reported 66% weekly remaining immediately before the Default service-tier change, then enforced 0% weekly remaining afterward with a different reset date.

What is the expected behavior?
Changing priority/service tier from Fast to Default should not make the CLI display a different weekly limit bucket without explanation.
Expected behavior:
- If the weekly limit is actually 66% remaining, Codex should not block the next turn as though the weekly bucket is exhausted.
- If the workspace is blocked because Credits are 0, the CLI should distinguish that from weekly included usage remaining.
- If
/statusis stale, the CLI should either refresh before showing the limit or clearly indicate that the displayed weekly percentage and reset date are not authoritative. - The weekly reset date should not change from Jul 11 to Jul 6 unless the CLI is intentionally switching to a different entitlement bucket, in which case the bucket should be labeled.
Additional information

This looks like one of the following:
- stale cached limit data in
/status - switching between different entitlement buckets after priority/service-tier changes
- confusion between included weekly usage, 5-hour usage, workspace-credit accounting, and service-tier accounting
- incorrect weekly reset date reporting after the service-tier change
The block itself may be valid if Credits are 0, but the reporting is internally inconsistent: 66% weekly remaining with reset Jul 11 became 0% weekly remaining with reset Jul 6 after one attempted turn.
