Codex Desktop: unpinned project chat remains searchable but does not reappear under its project
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
Version 26.623.141536 • Released Jul 7, 2026.
What subscription do you have?
Pro
What platform is your computer?
Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64
What issue are you seeing?
A project-associated chat is not listed under its project in the sidebar after it is unpinned.
The chat still exists and is fully functional:
- it can be found using Search,
- it opens normally,
- it still shows that it belongs to project "ivex" and branch "master",
- when pinned, it appears correctly under the Pinned section and remains there after restarting Codex.
The problem only occurs after unpinning the chat. Instead of appearing under its project, it disappears from the sidebar completely.
The affected chat is named "Create Ivex Worker Service".
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Feedback ID: 019ea457-f4a5-7f62-ac8f-a26bfec21ced
What is the expected behavior?
When a project-associated chat is unpinned, it should be removed from the Pinned section and appear under its associated project in the sidebar.
The project association should remain visible without requiring the chat to stay pinned.
