What issue are you seeing?
Commit attribution appears to have been removed in #22412 and no longer works.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Have Codex commit any changes. After upgrading past 0.131.0, the feature no longer works.
What is the expected behavior?
Commit co-author trailers should still work when enabled. We have this enforced in our enterprise to try and track AI assisted development better.

FYI @dylan-hurd-oai and @pakrym-oai – was that PR supposed to just clean up the feature but leave the
commit_attributionconfiguration?it was moved to an extension gated behind an account level flag that can only be enabled server-side

I really have no clue why this was done. It's an incredibly simple feature and it's open source so I don't get why they removed it with no explanation or compatibility layer, when it was already documented, into something that, as far as I can tell, only openai employees have access to turn on.
@jayp-oai are there any plans to restore this into something that non-internal users can use? it was already in use by many people and a lot of people that had it turned on still want/expect it. also it would be nice to know why it was removed or hear the reasoning behind it.
