after upgrade today, codex has degraded horribly

What issue are you seeing?

Codex Desktop on Windows continuously respawns multiple git.exe helpers under ChatGPT.exe. Repository reads, shell output, Node filesystem reads, and apply_patch then hang indefinitely. Killing the Git helpers temporarily restores access, but they immediately respawn. Even trivial commands such as Write-Output hello fail to complete because output streams remain open. This made normal source inspection and editing effectively unusable.
