What platform is your computer?

Windows

What issue are you seeing?

A regression in the desktop app prevents the Shift + Tab keyboard shortcut from entering Plan Mode.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Open the desktop app.

Focus the prompt input.

Press Shift + Tab.

What is the expected behavior?

The app should switch into Plan Mode.

Additional information

This shortcut worked previously, so the issue appears to be a regression in a recent desktop app update.

Also reproducible on macOS in Codex App 26.707.31428. Shift+Tab no longer toggles Plan Mode; the remaining paths (such as /plan or the command palette) add friction to a frequent action and interrupt keyboard-driven workflows.

Expected behavior: please provide either (1) a default direct shortcut to toggle Plan Mode, or (2) a Toggle Plan Mode command in Keyboard Shortcuts/keybindings so users can assign their own shortcut. A customizable command would also avoid conflicts with Shift+Tab's standard focus-navigation behavior.

This appears to be cross-platform rather than Windows-only.

I actually didn't even think about checking the keyboard shortcuts.

I checked and sure enough, you can create a custom keybind for plan mode, it was unbound by default. However, I did set it back to shift tab and restarted codex and it still didn't work. Then the newest update just hit, and I tried it again, and it works now.
