What issue are you seeing?
Since updating to Codex Desktop 26.623.141536, all existing conversations are unusable immediately after launching the app.
When I try to send a message in an existing conversation, a popup appears:
“Unable to send message”
“Loading…”
Workaround:
Launch Codex Desktop.
Open any existing conversation.
Try to send a message: it fails.
Create a new conversation.
Send any message in the new conversation.
Return to an existing conversation.
All existing conversations now work normally.
The issue returns after restarting Codex Desktop.
Environment:
Codex Desktop: 26.623.141536
Released: July 7, 2026
OS: Windows 11
Duration: approximately one week
Expected behavior:
Existing conversations should be ready immediately after launching the application.
Actual behavior:
Existing conversations remain stuck in a loading state until a message is sent in a newly created conversation.
Impact:
I must create a disposable conversation on every launch, which creates unnecessary conversations and consumes tokens.
