Subject: Removing Atlas breaks my browser-to-ChatGPT workflow

I rely on ChatGPT Atlas for a simple but essential workflow: opening an article or webpage and asking ChatGPT to summarize or analyze the current page directly.

If Atlas is going away, I need the same capability in ChatGPT before it is removed. Copying and pasting article text into ChatGPT is a major regression, especially for long articles, paywalled pages where I’m already logged in, and day-to-day reading.

For me, this is a deal killer. The value is not just “ChatGPT can summarize text”; it is that ChatGPT can see the page I am currently reading, with my browser context, and answer questions without ceremony.

Please preserve or replace these Atlas behaviors before shutdown:

  • A ChatGPT sidebar or equivalent that can read the current browser page
  • Works with pages I’m logged into, with clear user-controlled page visibility
  • One-step prompts like “summarize this page” and “explain this article”
  • Follow-up questions about the same page without re-copying text
  • A smooth migration path for Atlas users inside the main ChatGPT app or another official OpenAI browser integration

I’m a paying user, and losing this workflow would make ChatGPT much less useful to me. I need an official OpenAI-supported replacement, not a workaround.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

What is the expected behavior?

I should not be losing Atlas functionality in new app. I am being told that I have to copy and paste the text.
