Please add a setting that lets users choose which interface the ChatGPT desktop app opens to by default: - Work (current behavior) - Classic Chat This would allow users to optimize the startup experience based on how they primarily use the app.

What issue are you seeing?

The new Work interface is excellent for coding projects and long-running tasks.

However, many users also use ChatGPT for quick questions, translations, brainstorming, writing, or other short conversations. Every time the app launches, they must first enter the Work page and then click the small Chat button to start a normal conversation.

Since opening the app is one of the most frequent actions, this extra step becomes repetitive and slows down simple interactions.

What is the expected behavior?

Add a user preference in Settings, for example:

Default startup page:
• Work
• Classic Chat

The default could remain "Work" for new users, while allowing anyone who prefers quick conversations to launch directly into Classic Chat.

Additional information

• Reduces friction for quick, everyday conversations.
• Keeps the current Work-first experience unchanged for users who prefer it.
• Improves personalization without affecting existing workflows.
• Provides a better balance between project-based work and lightweight chat.

This request is not about replacing the Work interface.

The Work interface is very useful for development tasks. The suggestion is simply to let users choose which interface is shown first when launching the app, since different users have different primary workflows. This is a low-risk, high-impact quality-of-life improvement because it only adds an optional preference without changing the default behavior for existing users.
